Transitioning

DS is "transitioning" from the infant room to the 12-18 month room this week. He started today because he has been home with a fever for the past 2 days. He is having lunch with them now, then will go outside to play, and will probably nap when they do after playing outside.

The birthday party Sunday was a blast! He loved the chocolate icing on the cake, and he seemed to enjoy the bare white cake after the icing was gone, too. We let him feed himself (without a bib) and he only got 2 small spots of icing on his shirt, and none in his hair, ears, eyes, etc. When he was finished he had quite a chocolate mustache and some on his cheeks and just a little on his nose. He showed quite a preference for eating with his left hand (which he has shown for quite a while now). We fed him both vanilla and choclate ice cream with a spoon, and some of that dribbled down his chin. Overall he was quite neat for a 1 year old having cake and ice cream.
