My office environment is more kid-friendly than people let on. Right now two of my co-workers are talking almost baby-talk to their little ones on the phone. (I work in a office with 4 cubicles, so we can hear almost everything that goes on.) Across from me is the dad of an almost 2 year old, and next to me is the mom of a 9 month old.

I'm 3/4 of the way there, wow!

Things are going well still. My heartburn is better, because I am eating smaller amounts at a time. My coworkers will be having a shower for me (it's official, but the date isn't set yet). We have a buyer for the piano. And the Easter cantata that DH is directing will be wonderful. (I had really wanted him to not do it this year, because of the time involved in planning and rehearsing, but after our first rehearsal on Monday I realized, and told him, that deciding to do it was the RIGHT decision.)

I think I'm starting to have Braxton-Hicks contractions once in a while. It's kind of a tightness low in my abdomen, off to the sides a bit, kind of like a menstrual cramp but not quite in the same place. At dinner my DH suggested that he should start carrying his pager all of the time (not just for work hours) and that I should take our cell phone will me when I leave the house. That's okay by me, but I know we won't need them for anything baby related for a long time.

Things are looking up! I have my voice back, we have hired a doula, and I'm feeling better. My PCP has switched me to every 2 weeks, and my uterus is measuring right "on schedule". I am starting to have more problems with heartburn, and I had big problems with constipation last week, but that seems to be better today. We don't need to buy a crib after all, my SIL said that we can borrow theirs but should get a new mattress for it. Now if my coworker who is interested in the piano will decide "yes" we will be able to move forward with getting the nursery ready soon!

I still have no voice, although I did croak out a syllable or two with a lot of effort this morning. About half of my city is closed today due to an ice storm that started last night and continues today. So I get to stay home again today and don't have to use a sick day. I'm going to try not to loaf all day.

I still can't talk, and I'm still staying home from work, but since I don't feel too bad (except for being more tired than usual), I am starting to get the house ready for the baby. The computer room will become the nursery, so the computer is moving to where the piano is in the dining room, and the piano is being sold. We still have a lot of rearranging to do, but I am getting a decent start on things this week. Plus I am getting a lot of reading in my books and baby magazines done this week, too.

I have laryngitis, probably due to an upper respiratory viral infection (my cold). No fever, no nasty stuff growing in my throat (not strep), just no voice. Doctor's orders are "no talking, lots of fluids, and lots of rest." I already use a humidifier in my bedroom at night (which helps with nose and mouth dryness, especially with a cold). I'm already drinking about a gallon a day, so I'll try to increase that, too. I'm fairly prone to this, so I don't really think it has anything at all to do with being PG. The good part is that I feel fine otherwise!

Ack. I have another cold. I think it started coming on Sunday. Monday was a holiday, and I stayed home from work Tuesday. Wednesday I started coughing, mainly from drainage down my throat. Yesterday the congestion was better but the coughing was worse. Today both are a bit better. I called my Dr. to see if I should take anything or just tough it out.

I've been wondering if I'm actually going to have any baby showers. I have less than 12 weeks to go, and no one has said anything to me. I supposed I shouldn't expect them, but both work and church have a history of giving them for first-time moms. Actually, one lady at choir last night did ask DH if another lady had asked me about dates yet, so at least that one may happen.

Baby has been quite active in the afternoons and evenings lately. Last night I had a magazine resting on my abdomen and I could see it jump. DH can feel the movements much more easily now, too. It's just amazing that there's a little person inside of me!

Okay, I'm hormonal. Last night I got upset when talking with DH about something. It wasn't an arguement, and I don't even think it would be fair to call it a disagreement. I wanted to remind him of something, but someone else had reminded him of it earlier in the evening; so when I brought it up he got defensive; then I got defensive and upset and started crying. What a mess! Everything's okay now, but that's the first time in several months that I've cried at the drop of a hat. (I didn't even get upset yesterday morning when I spilled chocolate milk inside my car, and coat and had to change shirts before going to work.)

No diabetes! I just got a call from my Dr.'s office and the GTT on Friday came back normal. Yippee! I was really expecting that it would since I felt fine the whole time, no nausea, no light headed-ness, not even sleepy.

I'm really having a hard time concentrating on work at work lately. I keep wanting to read email, look at baby registry things, and surf ebay for baby items (oh, and write in my blog, too.) My self-discipline it pretty much gone right now.

I registered at Toys R Us tonight. I don't think I've felt that lost in quite a long time. Even with my sister and niece "helping" I wandered around and was indecisive. The gal at customer service said it couldn't be updated online, but she was wrong. She was right about not being able to combine online and store created registries, though, if they are created separately. Since there are several things that I want that the store didn't have, I may go ahead and register at Baby Depot also, who knows.

My rash is much better today. It's almost completely gone on one side and much lighter on the other side. I'm going to go register this evening, with my sister's help. It should be fun!
